General Care

It’s important to learn how to clean and take care your eyeglasses. It will extend the glasses longevity, preventing grimy smudges and protecting lens coatings from chipping away. Follow these simple guidelines below for eyewear maintenance to keep you looking fresh and sharp.

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR GLASSES

STEP 1

Rinse your glasses under the tap with lukewarm water

STEP 2

Rub your lens and frame gently with your fingers using a scrub free and oil-free liquid soap

STEP 3

Rinse clean

STEP 4

Dry your glasses with a microfiber cleaning cloth

Do

  • Clean your glasses before putting them away. Always rinse your glasses with lukewarm tap water after taking a dip in the pool or in the ocean.

  • Be sure to clean nosepads, the sides of the frame that sit around and behind your ears and any other part of the frame that comes into contact with your face so that you can remove any skin oils and dirt. Use a cotton swab for hard to reach areas.

  • Use microfiber cleaning cloth to wipe away sweat, oil and other residue that may transfer onto the frame to keep your glasses looking great. Wash the cloth periodically to be sanitary.

  • Wipe off lenses further with an anti-fog cleaning cloth to avoid embarrassing foggy lenses.

  • Avoid storing your glasses in extreme temperature conditions or leaving them in your vehicle for extended periods of time.

  • Store your glasses in hard case when not being wore.

Don’t

  • Allow salt water and chlorine to sit on our lenses for too long without rinsing or cleaning them. Salt water and chlorine can eat away at the lens coating.

  • Expose your eyewear to extreme heat, strong detergents or other chemicals.

  • Use glass cleaners or any household cleansers to clean your glasses–they may damage the lens coating.

  • Use paper products, T-shirt or abrasive materials on the lenses. They might feel soft to touch, but can potentially scratch lenses and often leave bits of themselves behind.

  • Avoid vigorous cleaning. If you find scratches on the lens or the coating started to chip, refrain yourself to pick on it and risk for further damage. We highly recommend you to add the Co-Pay Protection to your customized lens glasses order.

  • Place your eyewear face down or store your eyewear with sharp or blunt objects that may damage the lens or frame.

Adjustments

Please let the professionals handle all frame adjustments. Bring your glasses to your local optical shop. Usually they would be glad to help you out or for a minor fees.

  • For all frames models from the Signature Collection, let the handlers proceed with acetate/metal frame adjustment guidelines.

  • For frames from the Skate Collection, those sunglasses are made with real real wood and can not be adjusted by any means.
